Mission set in the opening game of the Seoul Olympics
Seoul in 1988 ahead of the Olympics, where the whole world is going crazy. Fashion is Old School! Music is full of emotions! Racing is the world’s strongest! Sanggye-dong Supreme Team will receive an irresistible offer and be put into VIP slush fund investigation operations. The strongest drifter ‘Dongwook’ (Yoo Ah-in), S.P.Y DJ ‘Woo Sam’ (Go Kyung-pyo), human navigator ‘Bok-nam’ (Lee Kyu-hyung), biking genius ‘Yoon Hee’ (Park Joo-hyun), and Sanggye-dong McGyver ‘Jun-ki’ (Ong Seong-woo) “Look carefully. This is the real vibe.” The Sanggye-dong Supreme Team, dreaming of American Dream, will run through Seoul. This is the introduction of the Seoul Grand Operation Naver movie. The Seoul Grand Operation is a car-chasing action sprint that takes place when Dong-wook and his colleagues, who say driving is the best in Korea against the backdrop of the opening game of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, are deployed in VIP’s slush fund operation. The production company is Andmark Studio and was directed by Moon Hyun-sung, who produced the works of the king’s case notebook, Korea.
Comedy screenplay, acting and great screen
Seoul Grand Operations is a Korean movie made with Netflix’s original. The genres are action, comedy, and live play. The director is Moon Hyun-sung, the main actors are Yoo Ah-in, Moon So-ri, and Kim Sung-kyun. The running time is about 140 minutes. It’s pretty long for a Netflix action movie. The rating is 15 years old. It was released on Netflix on August 26, 2022. The production cost was about 20 billion won, but I think it’s a waste of money. Naver’s rating is 4.8 out of 10, Watchapedia’s rating is 2 out of 5, and Kino Rights’ rating is 26%. I think the rating is higher than I thought. The art team made a nice screen, so I think it’s at least this score. Casting is a luxurious casting. Yoo Ah-in plays Dong-wook, the team’s leader and best driver. Ko Kyung-pyo plays the role of Woo Sam, who helps with the operation with Dong-wook. Actor Lee Kyu-hyung stars in the role of Boknam, who plays a bullet taxi driver and the team’s eldest brother. Ong Seong-woo played the role of Jun-ki, the team’s engineer, and Park Joo-hee played the role of Yoon-hee, the younger brother of Dong-wook and a transformative genius who rides a bike. The casting of those who pressure Dongwook’s team is also spectacular. Moon So-ri played the role of Chairman Kang, who is in charge of VIP slush funds. As expected, as a veteran actor, his acting is the best in this work. And Kim Sung-kyun stars in the role of Lee, who does rough work under Chairman Kang. In this work, Kim Sung-kyun also acts the second best after Moon So-ri. Prosecutor Ahn Jung-se played the role of prosecutor Ahn, who is threatening Dong-wook with his crimes so far and operating as a driver under Chairman Kang. An idol named Song Min-ho has also appeared, but perhaps because the movie itself is childish, the role itself is forced and unattractive, so there is no presence.
Charging is directed using past props
As the Netflix movie “Seoul University Operation” is set in 1988, there is a retro atmosphere throughout the movie. There are also characters who want to be icons of this era. They gathered together to show the process of confronting huge power, adding to the fun of the play. Reflecting the times, it transforms inconvenient elements of the times into dramatic fun, such as a bug that is too big to stand out easily, a part where you have to explain the roadway without navigation, and a scene where you expose a plot with cassette tape. These parts are a little forced because they seem to have been set up too much. The work itself is a bit distracting and clutterless, so I feel a lot of tackiness. I think the most important thing in this movie is the chartering part. Even that is tacky. It’s a shame that the CG is too obvious and the production that I don’t know the intention is very disappointing. The characters have strong personality but no charm, and each person plays too separately and the story is too obvious. In short, it’s a childish movie. If this movie is made for such childishness, it can be said that it was well made as the director intended. If you have a lot of time and don’t have anything to do, I recommend you to watch another movie if you’s not boring.
