K-movie The Devil’s Deal Cho Jin-woong, Lee Seong-min, and Kim Moo-yeol’s breathtaking performances… Released on March 1st
Jo Jin-woong, Lee Seong-min, and Kim Moo-yeol meet in a ‘The Devil’s Deal’ contest to unfold a breathtaking acting performance. The direct and primary attributes of power they portray will lead the audience to the theater.

The work is set in Busan in 1992. Hae-woong (Cho Jin-woong), a candidate for the National Assembly, Sun-tae (Lee Seong-min), a hidden political figure, and Pil-do (Kim Moo-yeol), a gangster of activists, fight fiercely to overturn the game by holding secret documents that will shake the Republic of Korea. It is a crime drama.
First, director Lee revealed the reason why the English title of ‘Confidential’ was k-movie ‘The Devil’s Deal’. He said, “Since the main character is an aspiring politician, it may look like a political movie. Rather, the English title contains a lot of themes of the movie.” I think the English title for that line is K-movie ‘The Devil’s Deal’.”
He added, “Rather than looking at power negatively, if you look at classic works such as ‘Machiavelli’ and ‘Faust’, it seems that the stories of power and human desire are all similar. ‘Secret’ also seems to be in that context.”
In the meantime, there have been many works on politics. Among them, director Lee picked the ‘three main characters in the forefront’ as a differentiating point. He said, “I saw a politician as the main character. And I wanted to talk about the nature of power in a direct and primary way through the hidden power that leads the story and the three people who hold the violent power that is revealed on the outside.”
Cho Jin-woong leads the play as Hae-woong, a late-life member of the National Assembly who wants to end his political career. Convincingly portraying the character’s human side, the process of change, and the changed appearance, he said, “What would be an easy role? You set the plate well,” he said.
Upon hearing this, director Lee said, “When I gave the first adaptation to Cho Jin-woong, he said, ‘I’m sorry for giving such a difficult character. The actor who plays this would have been more difficult. We filmed while asking, checking, and talking to each other.”
Lee Seong-min meets the audience disassembled as Soon-tae, a hidden power figure who shakes the political arena. In the recently ended JTBC’s ‘The youngest son of a conglomerate house’, he showed his irreplaceable presence by disassembling Jin Yang-cheol, and tried to change his acting by bringing up the face of a villain he had never seen before.
Regarding this, Lee Seong-min said, “If you look at the order of filming, ‘secret’ comes first. It seems that the character of the drama was born with the addition of what I have accumulated while filming this work.” indicated
On the other hand, Cho Jin-woong and Lee Seong-min, who acted together in the movies ‘Kundo: Age of Civil War’, ‘Sheriff’, ‘Duke’ and ‘Black Money’, show off their trustworthiness again this time. In response, Cho Jin-woong expressed his extraordinary affection, saying, “It was comfortable because Lee Seong-min presented very clearly what the scene was asking for in acting.”

Kim Moo-yeol plays Pil-do, an activist gangster who dreams of becoming a political gangster. For this work, he gained 12 to 13 kg and took on a new challenge by speaking the Busan dialect. I was born and raised in Seoul, so it was difficult to correct this habit, and I couldn’t understand the high and low. I was at a loss,” he said frankly.
